MACI ACI Cartilage Repair MACI ® Cartilage Repair
MACI is an ACI (Autologous chondrocyte implantation) procedure. This biologic, surgical procedure uses a patient’s own (autologous) cells which are expanded and placed onto a film that can be absorbed back into your own tissue. It is implanted into the area where the damaged cartilage was removed. The tissue created has properties similar to hyaline cartilage, the durable tissue found in articular cartilage.

 

The procedure is a 6-step process culminating with a physician-prescribed rehabilitation program designed specifically for the patient.

PRP Therapy offered by Panhandle Orthopaedics Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
This non-surgical therapy is an injection of a concentrated mixture of the patient's own blood. PRP injections have been shown to relieve acute and chronic pain and accelerate healing of injured tissues and joints. Conditions aided by PRP include joint conditions, meniscus tears, osteoarthritis, and ligament sprains & tears.

This minimally invasive, arthroscopic procedure incorporates a disposable optical needle with fully integrated camera that allows real time diagnosis of patient joint injuries through a handheld tablet. Not only is this useful for diagnosis, it also contains a fully integrated lumen (port), making it possible to provide pain medication to the area using the same device.

 

Features and Benefits: an in-office procedure that, in majority of cases, eliminates the need for an MRI and multiple doctor visits.

AM SurgicalA minimal incision procedure, utilizing fluoroscopy, that is designed to access and treat bone defects associated with chronic bone marrow lesions (BMLs), that lie below the bone surface, by filling them with a biomimetic bone substitute material (BSM). This procedure helps heal lesions as the bone substitute material is resorbed and replaced with new, healthy bone.
