Clinic Assistant


Overview: Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Clinic Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care throughout their treatment journey. In this role, you will support our providers by performing administrative and some clinical tasks that ensure smooth clinic operations and outstanding patient experiences. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help foster a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and respected. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, orthopedic clinical environment.

 

Hours: This is a part time opportunity. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8-5, with a one hour lunch break. The candidate will be taking a part time position with benefits. No weekend work.


Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Triage – escort patients to exam rooms, measuring and recording patient vital signs.
  • Patient History – taking and documenting patient medical histories including current medications and allergies.
  • Assist with exams and procedures – assist providers during exams and various medical procedures such as wound care and injections.
  • Testing – collect urine samples for toxicology screening.
  • Sterilization/Disinfection – properly cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment and instruments, sterilize exam rooms between patients.
  • Cleanliness – maintain clean, organized clinic area.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling – coordinating with front desk staff to ensure proper scheduling blocks with providers.
  • Record Keeping – maintaining and updating patient records including electronic health records (EHRs), assist with clinic notes as directed by provider.
  • Patient Flow – managing patient flow during clinic hours.
  • Referrals – coordinating referrals to other healthcare professionals.
  • Communication – communicating with patients and other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Office duties – general office duties such as greeting patients, keeping inventory of various medical supplies, including DME kept on-site, and inform management when supplies are low and need to be ordered.
  • Physician Orders – inputting physician-ordered prescriptions for medication, DME and testing.
  • Patient education – providing basic patient education on condition(s), treatment plan, usage and fit for DME.
  • Patient safety – ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and comfortable with computer use.
  • Ability to use regular office machines such as copy/scan/fax machine and mulit-line phones.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Professional, dependable and patient-focused attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience with EHR systems and/or medical office preferred.
