Mandy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lynchburg College in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree and honors in Athletic Training. The honors distinction was awarded following the completion of a thesis project on hydration status as it relates to injury prevalence in female athletes. She became certified in Athletic Training by the Board of Certification, INC. that same year. Mandy has a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Marymount University which was completed in 2013.

Mandy began her career as a physical therapist at an outpatient orthopedic clinic in Lexington, Kentucky where she worked for three years before moving to Florida. During that time, Mandy began training through the Spinal Manipulation Institute (SMI). She was certified in dry needling during the first year of her career. Dry needling is an intramuscular needling technique performed on an array of orthopedic and neurological conditions. She has completed half of the coursework for a certification in spinal manipulation through SMI. These courses teach advanced competence in manipulation of all spinal areas. Mandy will sit for the examination for certification that includes a written, oral, and practical portion in 2017. In addition to these manual therapy techniques Mandy is trained in instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, cupping techniques, and a variety of tapping techniques.

Mandy has also participated in a significant amount of work over the last three years with worker’s compensation patients. She began performing evaluations for work conditioning programs which is designed to be the step between physical therapy treatment and full return to work for work injuries. In 2015, she became certified in the performance of Functional Capacity Evaluations that are done predominately on the worker’s compensation group; however, it also is performed on individuals on disability. Mandy is passionate about this patient population due to the positive attributes associated with return to work and enjoys assisting in that process.
